Final Fantasy VII Remake on a Mac with a controller
The Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade layout is built into InputConfig, free on the Mac App Store. You don't have to make an account, there are no subscriptions, and nothing is locked. Optimized for Apple silicon.
On a Mac: No Mac version. It streams to a Mac from a Windows PC you own, which normally hands a controller to the game's own scheme.
Yes, Final Fantasy VII Remake plays on a Mac with a controller, as a stream from your own Windows PC. When the stream ignores your pad, this layout rebuilds the console scheme from the keyboard. The ATB menu pauses the fight, which forgives a stream's latency, and it is on the big button.
The layout, control by control
How the layout thinks
- Move and look. The left stick moves and the right stick turns the camera. Lock-on is the right stick click.
- Fight. Attack (left click) is the left face button, the unique ability (R) the top, and dodge (right click) the right.
- ATB. The command menu (Space) is the bottom face button. The right trigger guards (F) and the left trigger opens the shortcuts (Q). The right bumper cycles tabs (E).
- Party. D-pad left and right switch character (X and Z). Up opens the map (N) and down cycles the HUD (B).
- Menus. The main menu (M) is on Create and Escape on Options.
The ATB menu is the big button, and it stops the clock while you choose.
Tune it
- Party swap. It is already on D-pad left and right.
- Camera. Lower the camera rows' Speed from 18 to about 14 and 10.
A calmer camera is the only change I would make.
If the stream passes your controller
When the stream hands the game your pad, use Square Enix's scheme and keep this preset off, or every press lands twice. Open the ATB menu with the preset off first, and if it opens, you do not need this layout.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade controller support: controller or keyboard
Steam's store page lists partial controller support for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade: it plays on a controller, but some parts, such as a launcher, text entry or a menu, still expect a keyboard or a mouse. This layout sends keys and mouse movement from the pad, which can cover the parts the game's own support leaves out.
From Steam's listing, checked in October 2026. Every game's listing is in Mac games with controller support.
If your controller is not working in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade
When Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade does not react to your controller on a Mac, check these in order:
- Check that the Mac sees the controller. Open the gamepad tester and press a button. If nothing lights up there, the problem is the connection, and a controller that is connected but not working covers that first.
- Pair the controller with the Mac first. A streaming app such as Steam Link, Moonlight or Parsec passes on only a controller the Mac already sees, so pair it before you start the stream, then press a button once Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is running. Streaming PC games to a Mac with a controller has the checks for each app.
- Play it from keys. If Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade still ignores the pad, activate this layout. It sends the keyboard and mouse controls Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade already reads. Turn the game's own controller option off while it runs, or a press can arrive twice. The layout works whether or not Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade ever sees the controller.
Get it in two clicks
- Open InputConfig and click Smart Preset Maker on the welcome screen.
- Search for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and pick it. The layout is created as a preset in your sidebar, named and ready.
- Press Activate. Every row can be changed afterwards: the editor's Scan button rebinds any control the moment you touch it.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade controls: every button and the key it sends

Questions
Does Final Fantasy VII Remake run on a Mac?
Final Fantasy VII Remake does not run natively on a Mac. Stream it from a Windows PC you own, which normally passes a controller.
Can I play Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on an M1 Mac or a MacBook Air?
Yes, through a stream. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade runs on the other end, on your own PC, so the Mac only plays the video and sends your input. An M1 MacBook Air streams it like any other Mac.
Does Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade run in CrossOver on a Mac?
I have not tested Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade in CrossOver. CodeWeavers keeps a compatibility list where players report how each Windows game runs. If it runs and the controller is not seen, this layout plays it from the keys and mouse.
