MIDI: Transport Control preset

Download on the Mac App StoreThis preset ships inside InputConfig, free on the Mac App Store. You don't have to make an account, there are no subscriptions, and nothing is locked. Optimized for Apple silicon.

This preset gives you hardware transport control from a controller: A sends MIDI Start, B sends Stop, X sends Continue, the bumpers send Program Change 0 and 1 to switch patches, and the D-pad sends CC 7 for volume. Transport messages are real-time MIDI, so any DAW set to follow external MIDI transport responds.

A = Start, B = Stop, X = Continue, LB/RB = patch 1/2.

Where it is in the app

It ships in the MIDI & Creative folder of the sidebar. Activate it, or press Edit to see every row. The file below is the same preset, inactive and ungrouped.

Notes

  • DAWs that ignore MIDI transport. Replace the outputs with keyboard shortcuts such as Space, Return and R, and the preset works the same from the outside.
  • A full remote. The control surface guide has a complete layout.

Set the DAW to follow external MIDI transport, then the three buttons run it.

Download

To add one, drop the file on InputConfig's Dock icon, or see importing a preset. It arrives inactive, and any launch target in it is cleared.
