Yes, Rogue Legacy 2 runs natively on the Mac, and Steam lists full controller support, so use that first. This layout is the keyboard game from a pad, for a controller the game does not pick up. A run every ten minutes with a different heir, on a platformer's layout: jump on the big button, dash next to it, the weapon on the right trigger.

How the layout thinks

  • Move. The left stick and D-pad left and right move (A and D). D-pad up enters a door (W), down drops (S).
  • Jump and dash. Jump on the bottom face button (Space), dash on the right (Shift).
  • Weapon and talent. The weapon on the right trigger (left click), the talent on the left (right click).
  • Spell and class. The spell on the left face button (Q), the class ability on the top (E). Interact on the left bumper (R).
  • Menu. Menu on Start (Escape).

The spin kick is down plus jump. The stick has no down row, so use D-pad down with jump. Down plus jump is D-pad down, not the stick.

Tune it

  • Heirloom abilities. Both stick clicks are empty. Put their keys there.
  • A down row on the stick. Add a row for the left stick's down that sends S, if you would rather spin kick from the stick.

One new stick row puts the spin kick under your thumb.

If the game sees the pad

Rogue Legacy 2 supports controllers itself, so if Steam sees your pad and the game does not, read a controller that works in Steam but not in the game before you activate this layout.

Rogue Legacy 2 controller support: controller or keyboard

Steam's store page lists full controller support for Rogue Legacy 2, so the game was made to be played on a controller, menus included. A keyboard and mouse work as well, and the choice is yours.

From Steam's listing, checked in October 2026. Every game's listing is in Mac games with controller support.

Get it in two clicks

  1. Open InputConfig and click Smart Preset Maker on the welcome screen.
  2. Search for Rogue Legacy 2 and pick it. The layout is created as a preset in your sidebar, named and ready.
  3. Press Activate. Every row can be changed afterwards: the editor's Scan button rebinds any control the moment you touch it.

To check the controller itself first, the gamepad tester shows every button and stick live in your browser.

Rogue Legacy 2 controls: every button and the key it sends

The Sends column is Rogue Legacy 2's default keyboard and mouse controls, as this layout expects them. If you changed a key in the game's settings, change the same row in InputConfig.

Questions

Does Rogue Legacy 2 run on a Mac?

Yes. Steam lists a macOS version, and the game has full controller support. This layout is for a pad the game does not see.

Why is my controller not working in Rogue Legacy 2 on Mac?

First check that the Mac lists it under Game Controllers in System Settings. If it does and the game still ignores it, Steam Input may be holding it, and the page on a controller that works in Steam but not in the game covers that. If the pad is still not seen, this layout sends keyboard keys from it, which the game always reads.
