Noita on a Mac with a controller
The Noita layout is built into InputConfig, free on the Mac App Store. You don't have to make an account, there are no subscriptions, and nothing is locked. Optimized for Apple silicon.
On a Mac: No Mac version. It streams to a Mac from a Windows PC you own. The stream normally passes a controller to the game's native scheme. It starts from the Terraria template, and Noita's kick, throw and inventory are its own keys, so give those rows new outputs.
Yes, Noita plays on a Mac with a controller, streamed from a Windows PC you own. Noita is a wand and a physics engine, and the wand is the right stick: aim, and cast on the trigger. This layout starts from Terraria's, so a few rows need Noita's keys, and then it kills you the same way it kills everyone.
The layout, control by control
How the layout thinks
- Move. The left stick sends A and D for left and right.
- Wand. The right stick aims the cursor at speed 18. The right trigger casts (left click), the left trigger is the secondary (right click).
- Face buttons. The bottom sends Space, the template's jump. The right sends S, the left E (Terraria's grapple) and the top H (Terraria's heal).
- Wands. Wands 1 to 4 on the D-pad. Menu on Start (Escape).
The right stick is the wand, so aiming feels like pointing.
Tune it
- Kick, throw and inventory. Set the left, top and right face buttons' outputs to Noita's kick, throw and inventory keys.
- Levitate. Check the bottom button's Space against Noita's levitate key, and change it if they differ.
- A slow pointer for wand editing. Duplicate the four right-stick rows, set While also holding to a spare button on the copies, and give them a low speed.
Give the kick, throw and inventory Noita's keys first, since those rows still send Terraria's.
If the game sees the pad
Steam lists partial controller support for Noita, so a passed-through pad covers most of it, and this layout fills the gaps with the wand on a mouse-style cursor.
Noita controller support: controller or keyboard
Steam's store page lists partial controller support for Noita: it plays on a controller, but some parts, such as a launcher, text entry or a menu, still expect a keyboard or a mouse. This layout sends keys and mouse movement from the pad, which can cover the parts the game's own support leaves out.
From Steam's listing, checked in October 2026. Every game's listing is in Mac games with controller support.
If your controller is not working in Noita
When Noita does not react to your controller on a Mac, check these in order:
- Check that the Mac sees the controller. Open the gamepad tester and press a button. If nothing lights up there, the problem is the connection, and a controller that is connected but not working covers that first.
- Pair the controller with the Mac first. A streaming app such as Steam Link, Moonlight or Parsec passes on only a controller the Mac already sees, so pair it before you start the stream, then press a button once Noita is running. Streaming PC games to a Mac with a controller has the checks for each app.
- Play it from keys. If Noita still ignores the pad, activate this layout. It sends the keyboard and mouse controls Noita already reads. Turn the game's own controller option off while it runs, or a press can arrive twice. The layout works whether or not Noita ever sees the controller.
Get it in two clicks
- Open InputConfig and click Smart Preset Maker on the welcome screen.
- Search for Noita and pick it. The layout is created as a preset in your sidebar, named and ready.
- Press Activate. Every row can be changed afterwards: the editor's Scan button rebinds any control the moment you touch it.
Noita controls: every button and the key it sends
The Sends column is Noita's default keyboard and mouse controls, as this layout expects them. If you changed a key in the game's settings, change the same row in InputConfig.

Questions
Does Noita run on a Mac?
Noita does not run natively on a Mac. It streams from a Windows PC you own, and the stream usually passes a controller through.
Does Noita have controller support?
Partly. Steam lists partial controller support for the Windows game, and a stream normally passes your pad to it. When it does not, or when you want the wand on a mouse-style cursor, this layout sends the keyboard and mouse Noita was built around.
Can I play Noita on an M1 Mac or a MacBook Air?
Yes, through a stream. Noita runs on the other end, on your own PC, so the Mac only plays the video and sends your input. An M1 MacBook Air streams it like any other Mac.
Does Noita run in CrossOver on a Mac?
I have not tested Noita in CrossOver. CodeWeavers keeps a compatibility list where players report how each Windows game runs. If it runs and the controller is not seen, this layout plays it from the keys and mouse.
