Marvel's Spider-Man on a Mac with a controller
The Marvel's Spider-Man layout is built into InputConfig, free on the Mac App Store. You don't have to make an account, there are no subscriptions, and nothing is locked. Optimized for Apple silicon.
On a Mac: No Mac version, and it is not in GeForce NOW's or Xbox Cloud Gaming's library (checked September 2026). It streams to a Mac from a Windows PC you own, which normally hands a controller to the game's own scheme.
Yes, you can play Spider-Man Remastered on a Mac with a controller, by streaming it from your own Windows PC. When the stream does not pass your pad, this layout is the keyboard New York from it. Swinging is a held button and the release timing, and here the held button is the right bumper, so a finger holds the swing while the thumb hits jump at the bottom of the arc.
The layout, control by control
How the layout thinks
- Move and look. The left stick moves and the right stick turns the camera.
- Swing. Web swing (held Left Shift) is the right bumper, and jump and web zip (Space) the bottom face button. D-pad up zips to a point (C), and down dives (X).
- Fight. Attack (left click) is the left face button, dodge (Left Ctrl) the right, and web strike (F) the top. The left stick click is the finisher (2), and the right stick click yanks and throws (Q).
- Webs and gadgets. The right trigger is the web shooter and aim (right click), the left trigger the gadget (E), and the left bumper opens the gadget wheel (middle click).
- Heal and power. D-pad left heals (1) and right activates the suit power (3). The map (Tab) is on Create and Escape on Options.
Swing is a held finger and jump is a thumb, so the arc feels the way it does on a pad.
Tune it
- Gadget wheel. Hold the left bumper and scroll to pick. Add two chord rows on D-pad left and right, held with the left bumper, that send Scroll up and down.
- Camera. Swinging likes it fast. The camera rows run at 18 and 18. Try 18 and 12 if looking up and down feels jumpy.
Two scroll chords on the D-pad turn the gadget wheel into a thumb flick.
If the stream passes your controller
When the stream gives the game your pad, Insomniac's own controls are the way to play, and this preset stays off, because with both running every press lands twice. A swing that works with the preset off means the stream already passes your pad.
Marvel's Spider-Man controller support: controller or keyboard
Steam's store page lists full controller support for Marvel's Spider-Man, so the game was made to be played on a controller, menus included. A keyboard and mouse work as well, and the choice is yours. On a Mac, use the game's own controller support first when it sees your pad. This layout is for a pad it does not see, or for buttons it will not let you move.
From Steam's listing, checked in October 2026. Every game's listing is in Mac games with controller support.
If your controller is not working in Marvel's Spider-Man
When Marvel's Spider-Man does not react to your controller on a Mac, check these in order:
- Check that the Mac sees the controller. Open the gamepad tester and press a button. If nothing lights up there, the problem is the connection, and a controller that is connected but not working covers that first.
- Press a button after the stream has started. A stream only picks up a controller that is paired with the Mac, and a browser shows a controller to a page only after a button press. Start Marvel's Spider-Man, then press any button. Streaming from your own PC has its own checks, in how to stream PC games to a Mac with a controller.
- Play it from keys. If Marvel's Spider-Man still ignores the pad, activate this layout. It sends the keyboard and mouse controls Marvel's Spider-Man already reads. Turn the game's own controller option off while it runs, or a press can arrive twice. The layout works whether or not Marvel's Spider-Man ever sees the controller.
Get it in two clicks
- Open InputConfig and click Smart Preset Maker on the welcome screen.
- Search for Marvel's Spider-Man and pick it. The layout is created as a preset in your sidebar, named and ready.
- Press Activate. Every row can be changed afterwards: the editor's Scan button rebinds any control the moment you touch it.

Questions
Does Marvel's Spider-Man run on a Mac?
Marvel's Spider-Man does not run natively on a Mac, and it is not on GeForce NOW or Xbox Cloud Gaming. Stream it from a Windows PC you own. The stream normally passes a controller.
Can I play Marvel's Spider-Man on an M1 Mac or a MacBook Air?
Yes, through a stream. Marvel's Spider-Man runs on the other end, on a cloud service or your own PC, so the Mac only plays the video and sends your input. An M1 MacBook Air streams it like any other Mac.
