Dragon's Dogma 2 on a Mac with a controller
The Dragon's Dogma 2 layout is built into InputConfig, free on the Mac App Store. You don't have to make an account, there are no subscriptions, and nothing is locked. Optimized for Apple silicon.
On a Mac: No Mac version. It streams to a Mac from a Windows PC you own or from a cloud service that carries it, and the stream normally passes a controller to the game's own scheme.
Yes, Dragon's Dogma 2 plays on a Mac with a controller, as a stream. When the stream ignores your pad, this layout plays it. Dragon's Dogma's skills are a held modifier plus a face button, and the layout keeps that: hold the left bumper and the face buttons become your core skills.
The layout, control by control
How the layout thinks
- Move and look. The left stick moves and the right stick turns the camera.
- Fight. The light attack (left click) is the left face button and the heavy (V) the top. Jump is the bottom face button and dash (Shift) the right.
- Skills. Hold the left bumper for your core skills. The right bumper is the vocation action (right click).
- Climb and draw. The right trigger grabs (E), for climbing the griffin, and the left trigger sheathes and draws (X).
- The rest. The right stick click examines (E), the left stick click switches the lantern (R), and D-pad up and down send pawn commands 1 and 2. The map (Tab) is on Create and pause (P) on Options.
Hold the left bumper and the face buttons become skills, the way the game was built.
Tune it
- More pawn commands. D-pad left and right are free for the rest.
- Camera. Lower the camera rows' Speed from 16 to about 14 and 10.
The free D-pad directions are where your pawns' other orders belong.
If the stream passes your controller
When the stream gives the game your pad, use Capcom's scheme and keep this preset off, or every press lands twice. Test first: jump with the preset off, and only activate the layout if the Arisen stays put.
Dragon's Dogma 2 controller support: controller or keyboard
Steam's store page lists partial controller support for Dragon's Dogma 2: it plays on a controller, but some parts, such as a launcher, text entry or a menu, still expect a keyboard or a mouse. This layout sends keys and mouse movement from the pad, which can cover the parts the game's own support leaves out.
From Steam's listing, checked in October 2026. Every game's listing is in Mac games with controller support.
If your controller is not working in Dragon's Dogma 2
When Dragon's Dogma 2 does not react to your controller on a Mac, check these in order:
- Check that the Mac sees the controller. Open the gamepad tester and press a button. If nothing lights up there, the problem is the connection, and a controller that is connected but not working covers that first.
- Press a button after the stream has started. A stream only picks up a controller that is paired with the Mac, and a browser shows a controller to a page only after a button press. Start Dragon's Dogma 2, then press any button. Streaming from your own PC has its own checks, in how to stream PC games to a Mac with a controller.
- Play it from keys. If Dragon's Dogma 2 still ignores the pad, activate this layout. It sends the keyboard and mouse controls Dragon's Dogma 2 already reads. Turn the game's own controller option off while it runs, or a press can arrive twice. The layout works whether or not Dragon's Dogma 2 ever sees the controller.
Get it in two clicks
- Open InputConfig and click Smart Preset Maker on the welcome screen.
- Search for Dragon's Dogma 2 and pick it. The layout is created as a preset in your sidebar, named and ready.
- Press Activate. Every row can be changed afterwards: the editor's Scan button rebinds any control the moment you touch it.

Questions
Does Dragon's Dogma 2 run on a Mac?
Dragon's Dogma 2 does not run natively on a Mac. Stream it from a Windows PC you own or a cloud service that carries it.
Can I play Dragon's Dogma 2 on an M1 Mac or a MacBook Air?
Yes, through a stream. Dragon's Dogma 2 runs on the other end, on a cloud service or your own PC, so the Mac only plays the video and sends your input. An M1 MacBook Air streams it like any other Mac.
Does Dragon's Dogma 2 run in CrossOver on a Mac?
I have not tested Dragon's Dogma 2 in CrossOver. CodeWeavers keeps a compatibility list where players report how each Windows game runs. If it runs and the controller is not seen, this layout plays it from the keys and mouse.
