Built-in preset

Haptic Feedback preset

Download on the Mac App StoreThis preset ships inside InputConfig, free on the Mac App Store. You don't have to make an account, there are no subscriptions, and nothing is locked. Optimized for Apple silicon.

In this showcase preset, each face button rumbles at a different strength, from a light tap on A to a thump on Y, so you can feel the per-row vibration setting before you choose your own. A DualSense or DualSense Edge rumbles through InputConfig's own report. Xbox controllers and other pads with haptics support in macOS rumble through the system. Pads with no motors are skipped quietly. Controller vibration on Mac covers every option.

Press A/B/X/Y to type the letter and feel the haptic step up.

Where it is in the app

It ships in the Feature Showcases folder of the sidebar. Activate it, or press Edit to see every row. The file below is the same preset, inactive and ungrouped.

Every binding

InputSendsOptionsNote
A / CrossAvibrateType A, light rumble
B / CircleBvibrateType B, medium rumble
X / SquareCvibrateType C, strong rumble
Y / TriangleDvibrateType D, strongest rumble

4 rows. Button names are the Xbox / PlayStation pair the editor shows; a Switch Pro Controller fires by position. Options are the row settings that differ from the defaults.

Notes

  • Where the strength lives. The intensity slider is in each row's Options, under Vibrate.
  • The usual pattern. Put a low value on a frequent action, and a high one on a rare, important one.

Feel all four strengths before you choose one for your own rows.

Download

To add one, drop the file on InputConfig's Dock icon, or see importing a preset. It arrives inactive, and any launch target in it is cleared.
