Gyro Aim preset

Download on the Mac App StoreThis preset ships inside InputConfig, free on the Mac App Store. You don't have to make an account, there are no subscriptions, and nothing is locked. Optimized for Apple silicon.

In this showcase preset, turning the controller left and right moves the mouse left and right, tilting it up and down moves it up and down, and the triggers click. The pointer follows how far the controller turns, so turning back to where you started brings the aim back with it. It needs a controller whose motion sensors the Mac can read, such as a DualSense, DualSense Edge or DualShock 4. Xbox controllers have no motion sensors.

Tilt to aim: sideways tilt → mouse X, forward tilt → mouse Y. The left bumper pauses motion while held, the right bumper re-zeros and centers the pointer.

Where it is in the app

It ships in the Feature Showcases folder of the sidebar. Activate it, or press Edit to see every row. The file below is the same preset, inactive and ungrouped.

10 rows. Button names are the Xbox / PlayStation pair the editor shows; a Switch Pro Controller fires by position. Options are the row settings that differ from the defaults.

Notes

  • Pause to reposition. Hold the left bumper (L1 or LB) to stop the motion while you swing the controller back to a comfortable angle, the way you lift a mouse off the desk.
  • A new neutral. Press the right bumper (R1 or RB) to make the current tilt the neutral and center the pointer.
  • Speed. Speed on the motion rows sets how far the pointer travels for each degree of tilt.

Hold the left bumper whenever your wrist runs out of room.

Download

To add one, drop the file on InputConfig's Dock icon, or see importing a preset. It arrives inactive, and any launch target in it is cleared.
