Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night on a Mac with a controller
The Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night layout is built into InputConfig, free on the Mac App Store. You don't have to make an account, there are no subscriptions, and nothing is locked. Optimized for Apple silicon.
On a Mac: No Mac version. It streams to a Mac from a Windows PC you own. The stream normally passes a controller to the game's native scheme. It starts from the Hollow Knight template, and Bloodstained's shard slots and back dash are its own keys, so give those rows new outputs.
Yes, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night plays on a Mac with a controller, streamed from a Windows PC you own. It is Symphony of the Night in everything but name, and this layout is a Metroidvania template for a stream that misses your pad. Jump and attack are on the face buttons. The shards go on the trigger and bumpers. A slow game. A stream is fine.
The layout, control by control
How the layout thinks
- Move and aim. The left stick and the D-pad both send the arrow keys.
- Face buttons. Jump on the bottom (Z), attack on the left (X), dash on the right (C), cast on the top (A).
- Heal and special. The right trigger and the left bumper send A too, labeled heal and special. The right bumper sends D, labeled special ability.
- Menu. Pause on Start (Escape).
Jump, attack and dash work as they stand, and the shards are the part to add.
Tune it
- Shards and back dash. Set the right trigger, left bumper and right bumper to the directional shard, the manipulative shard and the back dash.
- Loadout swap. Both stick clicks are empty. Put the loadout swap on one.
Three key changes put every shard under a finger.
If the game sees the pad
On a stream that passes your pad, play Bloodstained on its own controls with this preset off, since running both doubles every press.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night controller support: controller or keyboard
Steam's store page lists full controller support for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, so the game was made to be played on a controller, menus included. A keyboard and mouse work as well, and the choice is yours. On a Mac, use the game's own controller support first when it sees your pad. This layout is for a pad it does not see, or for buttons it will not let you move.
From Steam's listing, checked in October 2026. Every game's listing is in Mac games with controller support.
If your controller is not working in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
When Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night does not react to your controller on a Mac, check these in order:
- Check that the Mac sees the controller. Open the gamepad tester and press a button. If nothing lights up there, the problem is the connection, and a controller that is connected but not working covers that first.
- Pair the controller with the Mac first. A streaming app such as Steam Link, Moonlight or Parsec passes on only a controller the Mac already sees, so pair it before you start the stream, then press a button once Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is running. Streaming PC games to a Mac with a controller has the checks for each app.
- Play it from keys. If Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night still ignores the pad, activate this layout. It sends the keyboard and mouse controls Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night already reads. Turn the game's own controller option off while it runs, or a press can arrive twice. The layout works whether or not Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night ever sees the controller.
Get it in two clicks

- Search for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and pick it. The layout is created as a preset in your sidebar, named and ready.
- Press Activate. Every row can be changed afterwards: the editor's Scan button rebinds any control the moment you touch it.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night controls: every button and the key it sends

Questions
Does Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night run on a Mac?
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night does not run natively on a Mac. It streams from a Windows PC you own, and the stream usually passes a controller through.
Can I play Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night on an M1 Mac or a MacBook Air?
Yes, through a stream. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night runs on the other end, on your own PC, so the Mac only plays the video and sends your input. An M1 MacBook Air streams it like any other Mac.
